Lamisil 1% Crm 10Gm
Indications / Uses :
Treatment of fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes eg, Trichophyton (eg, T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Pityriasis (tinea) versicolor due to Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur).
Cream: Yeast infections of the skin, principally those caused by the genus Candida (eg, Candida albicans).
Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients of Lamisil.
Use in lactation: Terbinafine is excreted in breast milk and therefore mothers should not use Lamisil whilst breastfeeding. In addition, infants must not come into contact with any treated skin area, including the breasts.
Special Precautions :
Lamisil is for external use only. It may be irritating to the eyes. Contact with eyes should be avoided. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse eyes thoroughly with running water. Effects on the Ability to Drive or Operate Machinery: Cutaneous application of Lamisil does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.
Use in pregnancy: Animal studies did not reveal any teratogenic or embryofetotoxic potential of terbinafine. No cases of malformation in humans have been reported to date. However, since clinical experience in pregnant women is very limited, Lamisil should not be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh any potential risks.
Use in children: There is limited experience with the use of Lamisil in children and is therefore not recommended for use.
Derm Topical Gel: Lamisil derm topical gel should be used with caution in patients with lesions where alcohol could be irritating.
