    Humalog Mix 25 Kwikpen

    GENERIC NAME: INSULIN LISPRO 25%, INSULIN LISPRO PROTAMINE SULFATE 75% (RDNA ORIGIN) 100 U/ML

    One (1) mL contains insulin lispro (recombinant DNA origin produced in Escherichia coli) 100 U (equivalent to 3.5 mg). Each vial includes 10 mL equivalent to insulin lispro 1,000 U.

    Humalog also contains the following inactive ingredients: m-cresol (3.15 mg/mL), glycerol, dibasic sodium phosphate?7H2O, zinc oxide and water for injection. Hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide may be used to adjust the pH to 7-7.8.

    Insulin lispro is a sterile, clear, colorless, aqueous solution.

    Indications / Uses : Treatment of DM which require insulin for the maintenance of normal glucose homeostasis in adults & childn. Initial stabilization of DM.

    Administration : Should be taken with food: Administer w/in 15 min before or immediately after meals.

    Contraindications : Hypersensitivity to insulin lispro or any of the excipients of Humalog. Hypoglycemia.

    Special Precautions : Transferring from other types of insulin. Renal & hepatic impairment. Presence of illness or emotional disturbances. Patients who undertake increased physical activity or change in the usual diet. Concomitant use w/ pioglitazone. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
