Depakene 250Mg/5Ml Syr 120Ml
Indications / Uses : Monotherapy & adjunctive therapy in the treatment of patients w/ complex partial seizures. Sole & adjunctive therapy in the treatment of patients w/ simple & complex absence seizures & adjunctively in patients w/ multiple seizure types that include absence seizures.
Administration : Should be taken with food.
Contraindications : Hypersensitivity. Hepatic disease or significant dysfunction, urea cycle disorders. Mitochondrial disorders; suspected POLG-related disorder in childn <2 yr. Porphyria. Prophylaxis of migraine headaches in pregnant women.
Special Precautions : Perform liver function test prior to therapy. Patients w/ hepatic disease & congenital metabolic disorders. Life-threatening pancreatitis. Evaluate for urea cycle disorders prior to initiation. Monitor patients for depression emergence or worsening, suicidal thoughts or behavior or self-harm. Loss of seizure control. Thrombocytopenia, hyperammonemic encephalopathy & hypothermia. Monitor patients for platelet count & coagulation parameters pre-op. Hypothermia in conjunction w/ & in the absence of hyperammonemia. Reversible & irreversible cerebral & cerebellar atrophy. May affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Childn.
