Coveram 5Mg/5Mg Tablet
Description : Per 5 mg/5 mg tab Perindopril arginine 5 mg, amlodipine besilate 5 mg. Per 5 mg/10 mg tab Perindopril arginine 5 mg, amlodipine besilate 10 mg. Per 10 mg/5 mg tab Perindopril arginine 10 mg, amlodipine besilate 5 mg. Per 10 mg/10 mg tab Perindopril arginine 10 mg, amlodipine besilate 10 mg
Indications / Uses : Treatment of HTN &/or stable CAD.
Administration : Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take before meals.
Contraindications : Hypersensitivity to other ACE inhibitors or dihydropyridines. Patients w/ cardiogenic shock, aortic stenosis, severe hypotension, heart failure after MI. History of angioedema w/ previous ACE inhibitor treatment. Family history of angioedema. Women who might become pregnant. Last 6 mth of pregnancy. Lactation. Childn & adolescents.
Special Precautions : Patients w/ hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or renal artery stenosis, heart failure, severe increase in BP, any other heart problems; liver or kidney problems; collagen vascular disease eg SLE or scleroderma; diabetes. Maintain a well balanced K blood levels by using K-containing salt substitutes if on salt restricted diet. Elderly needing an increase in dose. Patients undergoing general anesth or major surgery, LDL apheresis, desensitization treatment & recently suffered from diarrhea or vomiting. Perindopril in patients w/ collagen vascular disease, immunosuppressant therapy, treatment w/ allopurinol or procainamide, or a combination of these complicating factors especially if there is preexisting impaired renal function [some may develop serious infections which in a few instances did not respond to intensive antibiotic therapy; periodical monitoring of WBC count is advised & patients should report any sign of infection (eg, sore throat, fever)]. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Contains lactose. Discontinue use if any symptoms of angioedema, severe skin reactions or other allergic reaction occur. Early pregnancy.
