Description
CO-APROVEL 150MG TABLET
Indications / Uses :
Treatment of essential hypertension. It may be used either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Treatment of renal disease on patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus as part of an antihypertensive drug regimen.
Administration :
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity to irbesartan or any component of Aprovel.
Do not co-administer Aprovel with aliskiren-containing medicines in patients with diabetes or with moderate to severe renal impairment [glomerular filtration rate (GFR) <60 mL/min/1.73 m2].
Do not co-administer Aprovel with ACE inhibitors in patients with diabetic nephropathy.
Special Precautions :
Dual Blockade of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS): Dual blockade of the RAAS by combining Aprovel with an ACE inhibitor or with aliskiren is not recommended since there are increased risks of hypotension, hyperkalemia and changes in renal function compared to monotherapy.
The use of Aprovel in combination with aliskiren is contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus or with renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2) (see Contraindications and Interactions).
The use of Aprovel in combination with an ACE inhibitor is contraindicated in patients with diabetic nephropathy (see Contraindications and Interactions).
