Description

Cholestrol 40Mg Fc Tablet

Indications / Uses : Primary hypercholesterolemia, heterozygous or homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or combined (mixed) hyperlipidemia in patients who have not responded adequately to diet & other appropriate measures; prevention of coronary events, need for revascularization procedures & to show progression of coronary atherosclerosis in patients w/ CHD & total cholesterol conc of =5.5 mmol/L.

Administration : May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications : History or presence of active liver disease or w/ unexplained persistent increase in serum aminotransferase conc; rhabdomyolysis, severe hypotension & infection, trauma or major surgery, uncontrolled epilepsy, myopathy w/ creatinine phosphokinase (CPK) elevation & severe renal disease. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions : Hepatic impairment, large alcohol consumption. Monitor liver function tests prior to initiation of therapy. Elderly =70 yr w/ severe renal impairment.
